Felix van Cleeff ‎– The Crimson Sea CD

Felix (vocals, piano, electric & acoustic guitar, mellotron) surrounds himself with various guests on violin, viola, drums, bass, guitar, saxophone, cello and background vocals. Among them is violinist Anne Bakker, who has previously appeared alongside Greg Haines and Machinefabriek. It is partly typical singer-songwriter music (think Jeff Buckley) but he adds psychedelic rock, post-rock, indie and Americana. It's wonderful to daydream to this music, but it's also confronting to go into the night. These are quite profound and emotional songs with a sense of atmosphere and beauty. Music for sensitive, wandering souls who can find a satisfying and beautiful final destination here.
